Living Wage employer

Clyde is Living Wage Certified

We are delighted to announce that Clyde has been officially accredited as a Living Wage employer!

This means at Clyde Presentation Packaging we are committed to paying every one of our employees, whether direct employees or contracted staff, an hourly wage of at least £8.45 in the UK or £9.75 in London.

These rates are the current Real Living Wage rates, which are set independently, updated annually and calculated according to the real basic costs of living. Both rates are significantly higher than the government’s current statutory minimum for over 25s which is £7.50 per hour.

Katherine Chapman, Director of the Living Wage Foundation said, “We welcome Clyde to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer.

“We are a movement of over 3000 UK employers who together want to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. We have lots of small businesses as well as big household names like; IKEA, Aviva, Chelsea and Everton Football Clubs and many more.

“These businesses recognise that the Living Wage accreditation is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Clyde, join us because they too believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”

Employers choose to pay the real Living Wage on a voluntary basis. At Clyde, “Caring for the welfare of our staff” has always been a key part of our mission and our Living Wage commitment is just one way we demonstrate this.
“To provide sustainable, quality products and a superior customer service, whilst caring for the welfare of our staff”
Clyde’s Senior Director, Mike Steven, said, “Being a Living Wage Employer is very important to us because we believe in investing in our staff and paying them well. We like to see our employees do well for themselves – not only at work but also in their living standards.”

We believe that our staff are our greatest assets – as we care for them, they will care for our customers.
